Let’s be real: finals week is chaotic, stressful, and a little bit dramatic. I definitely don’t have it all figured out, but here’s how I made it through (mostly) in one piece.
- Lists, Lists, and More Lists
The only way I survived was by writing everything down—deadlines, exam dates, even what snacks I wanted to buy. Crossing things off gave me a weird sense of accomplishment.
- Mini Study Sessions
I stopped pretending I could study for hours non-stop. Instead, I broke everything into smaller chunks: 30 minutes of focus, then a break to stretch, snack, or scroll TikTok.
- Snacks and Playlists = Survival
Snacks are basically brain fuel, and a good playlist makes even the longest nights better. Sometimes I’d reward myself with a treat after finishing a tough chapter.
- Asking for Help (and Not Feeling Weird About It)
If I didn’t understand something, I finally started emailing professors, texting friends, or checking YouTube. Turns out, everyone is struggling in their own way.
- Letting Myself Have Mini Meltdowns
Yep, there were moments where I just sat and stared at my ceiling, questioning my life choices. And that’s okay! Sometimes you need a quick cry or a pep talk from a friend to reset.
- Celebrating Small Wins
Finishing a project, turning in an essay, or even just waking up on time—I tried to notice and celebrate the little victories.
Finals week is a lot, but it doesn’t last forever. I didn’t ace everything, but I did my best, and I’m honestly proud of that.
You’ve got this! And if you ever feel overwhelmed, remember you’re not alone—reach out, take breaks, and celebrate every step forward.
